Cairns RSL - Community Benefit Fund
Wed 29 Aug 2018 to Sun 30 Sep 2018
The Cairns RSL Club has launched its annual Community Benefit fund, providing an opportunity for individuals and community groups to access funding for worthwhile projects.
The fund was developed to honour and recognise the sacrifice and contribution of the thousands of Australian Men and Women who have and continue to serve in the defence forces since federation.
The Community Benefit fund provides an opportunity for worthy individuals and community based organisations to seek funding to undertake aspirations and tasks which they wish to pursue but where additional funding is required to achieve outcomes.
“Once again the RSL Club is thrilled to be able to donate $30,000 towards worthwhile projects in 2017” said Chairman Mike Libke. “We’ve seen these grants used to achieve some truly remarkable outcomes in the past and are confident once again that we can make a real difference to the sporting, academic or artistic pursuits of some of Cairns truly deserving individuals and groups.”
Key objectives include support to the ex-service community, assistance to improve health or welfare of less advantaged community members, improve sports participation, development of life skills of our youth and identified community issues that impact on family life.
Individual applicants are eligible for up to $1,500 and not-for-profit community groups are eligible for up to $6000.
Applications are open from now until the end of September 2018. Full details and applications forms are available on the clubs website www.cairnsrsl.com.au
