Meet Dave and Inkie
They're more of a team than Starsky and Hutch with better moustaches than magnum PI (Dave excluded). Dave and Inkie are pretty much hardwired into the heartbeat of Cairns and the far North as Cairns' longest-serving radio team.
Join them weekdays from 5.30am for a stack of fun as they keep you updated and entertained with all the latest sports news with Bluey Forythe, fishing reports with Pete Rankin, traffic updates and the juiciest (and sometimes inappropriate) entertainment news.
They're not afraid to ask the big questions and they invite you to help answer them. They also give away more free stuff than you can poke a toe at and have access to the biggest names, the giants of the entertainment industry, like the bloke that reads the lotto numbers.
Radio, to me, is like a magnet. I started my radio career 15 years ago as a ''street teamer'' a Brisbane radio station. I then moved to the Promotions Department and casual announcing for a community radio station in my very own show called, ''Cheap Tuesdays''.
After completing a Journalism degree at the Queensland University of Technology, I moved to Thredbo and was a print/TV and radio presenter for the snow season. Fast forward a few years, and a few more moves, I found myself at Sydney's largest radio station NOVA FM, heading up their Promotions team. But Sydney was not for me, I missed Queensland, and when my husband got a transfer to Townsville for work, we moved to enjoy the North Queensland lifestyle.
It was in Townsville, that myself and hubby appeared on Channel 7's House Rules TV show. What a whirlwind that was! Now, 4 years down the track, two kids later, we are settled in Cairns and so happy to call this town home.
It has been an absolute rollercoaster and I'm happy to be finding my way back to radio again and thrilled to join the Star 1027 team.
Breakfast with Dave & Inkie with Maddi weekdays from 5.30am.
