It's been the worst bushfire season on record with an unprecedented number of emergency-level fires and tomorrow the conditions are expected to worsen in NSW and VIC.

At least nine people of died, many injured, hundreds of homes destroyed and thousands of people in a state of shock.

If you want to do something to help these families and communities, a number of charities are set up to help.

1. The Salvation Army's "Donate the Disaster Appeal" - you can go online, call 13 SALVOS or make a donation at any Woolworths checkout.

2. The St Vincent De Paul Society stores are taking donations plus they also have a website to donate. See it here.

3. The Australian Red Cross has also launched a disaster appeal. Visit their website here.
