Today is International Angelman Day!
1 in 20 people will live with a rare disease at some point. Despite this, there is no cure for the majority of rare diseases and many go undiagnosed.
Rare Disease Day on February 29, raises awareness for the 300 million people living with rare disease around the world and their families and carers.
Angelman Syndrome is one of the over 6000 rare diseases currently in existence and today marks International Angelman Day.
Next week, listen out for my chat with Cairns campaigner, Meagan Cross who's started a Global Angelman Syndrome Registry after her daughter, Molly, was diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome at the age of 1.
The Rare Disease Day Fun Run/Walk is coming up Tuesday 23rd of February from 8.30am.
There's 3 and 5 km options and entry is $15 Adults, $5 kids over 5.
