Racing Pigeons to fundraise for Moyamoya Disease
Who would have thought pigeons could be so interesting?
Les Thompson trains pigeons and is preparing to race them in 'The Great Blue Pigeon Race' coming up Saturday, September 5 in Babinda to support Moyamoya disease - a rare, progressive cerebrovascular disorder that mainly affects children.
You can buy a pigeon for $20 each and if your pigeon is back first, you win $200.
Visit Moyamoya Australia to enter the race and support Nicola Baker and her son, Jed who suffers from the disease.
Did you know there are long, short and medium distance pigeons?
