Halfway there to helping locals in need this Christmas!
The Mayors Christmas Cheer Appeal has a big goal this year, to raise $100,000 to help those locals who are struggling and ensure they have something in their pantry this Christmas.
It's the biggest target they've ever set for themselves, expecting this year many more hampers will be needed due to the economic environment of 2020.
News out today that we've hit the halfway mark but still a way to go.
You can share the love by donating to buy a hamper. $65.00 will provide a hamper for a family and just $35.00 will provide a senior with a hamper. Or, you can donate a select amount to the Mayor’s Christmas Cheer Appeal on the Regional Council’s website.
“Every cent donated to the charity goes to buying food supplies for the hampers,” says Cairns Mayor Bob Manning.
So please share the Christmas spirit and make sure everyone has a happy Christmas this year.
