Elton John's new album features collaborations with Eddie Vedder, Miley Cyrus, Stevie Wonder and more...
Elton John has kept himself busy during lockdown, producing a new album: The Lockdown sessions, which is due out in late October.
Elton was midway through his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour when the pandemic hit but said one-off projects have kept on coming since then.
The Lockdown Sessions is a series of collaborations with artists like Miley Cyrus, Eddie Vedder, Lil Nas X, Charlie Puth, Gorillaz, Stevie Wonder, Stevie Nicks, Young Thug, Nicki Minaj, and Dua Lipa with the lead single "Cold Heart" which you'll hear on Star 102.7 - combining some of his classics, “Sacrifice,” “Rocket Man", “Where’s The Shoorah?” and “Kiss The Bride.”
When speaking with Rollingstone he said about recording these sessions, "I realized there was something weirdly familiar about working like this. At the start of my career, in the late 60s, I worked as a session musician. Working with different artists during lockdown reminded me of that. I’d come full circle: I was a session musician again. And it was still a blast.”
