Burn off your Easter calories - starts Monday!

Starting Monday, when the chocolate hangover kicks in, you can now try out free fitness classes when the Council kicks off it's Active Living program.

The 12-week trial will bring three classes a week to public spaces in Edmonton, Trinity Beach, Yorkeys Knob and Mooroobool.

Division 8 Councillor and NQSF chair Jessie Richardson said taking part in a class was just as much about being social as it was getting fit.
“Whether you become an exercise junkie or not, the chance to meet new people and chat to your neighbours is worth the effort in itself.”

The trial continues to mid-July. If successful, Council will investigate rolling out classes in other neighbourhoods.

Classes like Tai Chi, women's fitness, family workouts, Zumba and even Fitter Mums and Dads classes are available.

Check out the Cairns Regional Council website for the full program.
