A school stabbing in Cairns has been described as ‘horrific’ by police.
Around 10.25am, an 18-year-old man allegedly approached an 18-year-old woman who was seated with friends during a school break at Peace Lutheran College in Kamerunga.
The man is accused of stabbing the woman with a knife multiple times before being restrained by staff and other students.
Police arrested the man, while the woman was taken to Cairns Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
