Nine teens have been charged over an alleged stolen car joyride in Cairns.
The vehicle was allegedly stolen from a Sheridan Street address on August 16.
It will be alleged the vehicle had been the subject of several attempted intercepts and had been involved in multiple offences before being abandoned on Mestrez Street on August 19.
Several assets were utilised by police to locate the vehicle and the alleged offenders including the rescue helicopter, dog squad and tyre deflation devices.
The nine boys and girls arrested range in age from 13 to 16-years-old.
It will be further alleged that several of the teenagers arrested had been involved in other offences across Cairns in the preceding weeks.
A total of 33 charges have been laid including counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle, stealing, dangerous driving, unlicensed driving and enter premises.
The teenagers are due to appear before Cairns Childrens Court.
