A woman has been charged with arson, after a housefire on the Tablelands.
Police alleged the house on Barron Street in Koah was deliberately set alight around 10pm on Monday.
No one was inside the home at the time.
Nine fire crews arrived around 11pm to find a single-story structure well involved in flames.
It took until around 1.30 this morning to extinguish the flames.
Fire crews dampened down hotspots before leaving the scene in the hands of QPS around 2.30am.
Officers say they located a 43-year-old Kuranda woman nearby a short time later and took her into custody.
She has since been charged with one count of arson, and is due to appear before Mareeba Magistrates Court today.
A QFES spokesperson says a fire investigation officer will attend the scene later this morning.
