Kid Charged Over Crime Spree Including Man Hit With Tree Branches
A boy has been charged after a man was whipped with tree branches, spat at and had his car vandalised in Earlville.
The 13-year-old Manunda boy has been slapped with 29 charges, including one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm, endangering safety of person in a vehicle with intent, eight counts of burglary, three counts of unlicensed driving, five counts of enter premises and commit indictable offence, two counts each of stealing and wilful damage and seven counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
Police allege the property offences were committed from Mount Sheridan to Port Douglas and included Cairns and Northern Beaches suburbs of Brinsmead, Redlynch, Kanimbla, Bayview Heights, Palm Cove, Aeroglen, Holloways Beach, Yorkeys Knob, Mooroobool, Earlville and Westcourt
It’s further alleged a 39-year-old Cairns man was spat at, assaulted with tree branches and had his car damaged after the teen pelted it with rocks as he left a carpark in Barr Street, Earlville at about 7:00PM on January 20.
The boy will appear in the Cairns Children’s Court.
