Sickening Gang Attack Circulated Online

UPDATE | Four teenagers have been charged after the alleged assault and robbery of a 15-year-old girl at Bentley Park on February 15.

It will be alleged the 15-year-old was surrounded by a group of children known to her as she walked along Bicentennial Road around 3:00PM.

The group then allegedly began to assault her, punching and kicking her to the ground and demanding money.

It is further alleged that members of the group filmed the attack and later shared the vision on social media.

A small amount of cash was stolen from the girl’s pockets before the group fled the scene. She was transported to hospital for treatment to multiple bruises.

Ongoing investigations by police led to the arrest of four teenagers yesterday (February 17). Two of the teens were also charged in relation to a number of additional offences, including the alleged theft of cars from a community health centre.

A 16-year-old Earlville girl was charged with three counts of stealing and one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm in company, distributing child exploitation material, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driving unlicensed and wilful damage.

A 13-year-old Bentley Park boy was charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of distributing child exploitation material, making child exploitation material, robbery in company with violence, enter premises and commit indictable offence, receiving tainted property and wilful damage by graffiti.

A 15-year-old Mooroobool girl and a 13-year-old Bentley Park girl were charged with assault occasioning bodily harm in company and stealing.

All four cars stolen from the community health centre have been recovered. Investigations are continuing.

EARLIER | Four teens have been arrested after sickening footage of a gang attack on a 15-year-old girl was circulated online.

The graphic footage shows the gang chasing the girl before stomping, kicking and punching her in the head at Bentley Park.

Detective Inspector Jason Smith said it is upetting to see things like this after all the effort police put into working with young people.
