Man Charged Over Green Island Break-Ins
A man has been charged over a string of break ins on Green Island.
Two businesses were targeted earier this month.
It will be alleged that two men forced entry to two different businesses located at a Green Island resort complex in the early hours of February 9.
Cash and computer tablets were stolen from the premises.
As a result of investigations into the incidents, Cairns Property Crime Squad officers attended a Gatton Street residence at Westcourt just before 3:00PM on Thursday. A search warrant was executed at the address and several items of interest to investigators were allegedly located and seized.
Detectives subsequently spoke with a 37-year-old Westcourt man and he was taken into custody.
He was charged with two counts of breaking and entering premises and stealing and is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on March 20.
Investigations into the incidents are continuing.
