A White Rock man has been charged with drug offences after police pulled him over in Bungalow.
His vehicle was intercepted on McCoombe Street at around 11.20AM on Tuesday.
Following a routine search of the car, police located a small quantity of restricted drugs namely heroin and drug utensils.
He was charged with possessing a dangerous drug and possession of drug utensils and is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on April 9.
In an unrelated matter, a 28-year-old Goondiwindi man was charged with drug offences after police were called to a Bunda Street hostel at around 7.30AM on Tuesday.
Police were called to remove a man who allegedly broke into to a room at the hostel. During a subsequent search of the man’s backpack, police allegedly located a quantity of restricted drugs (methylamphetamines), drug utensils and a small quantity of fireworks.
The 34-year-old was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a restricted drug and possession of explosives and is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates on April 8.
