Teens accused of lighting fires at Cairns school
Two girls, aged 14 and 15, have been charged following investigations into damage caused to an Anderson Road school in Woree.
Police allege the teenagers were among a group of people involved in a number of wilful damage incidents to school property, in the early hours of May 9, including several small fires and graffiti damage to buildings.
Several wheelie bins and umbrella bins were allegedly set on fire.
No structural damage was caused to school buildings.
Both girls were arrested by the Cairns CIB on Friday and were charged with two counts each of wilful damage.
Investigations are continuing.
