A 16-year-old Brinsmead boy was charged yesterday following investigations into the alleged attempted forced entry of a home at Edmonton last month.

A man was at home at his Badilla Street residence on April 22 when he was awoken by a noise at around 2am.

He got out of bed and turned on the lights however could not see anyone.

He then noticed damage to his door lock and reported the incident later in the morning.

Forensic officers processed the scene and seized a pair of shoes that had been left behind.

Cairns Property Crime Squad officers attended a Brinsmead address at around 9am yesterday where the boy was located and taken into custody.
