Women charged over drugs and tainted property, Earlville
Two women were arrested and charged yesterday morning following a vehicle intercept at Earlville.
Uniformed police were conducting a patrol of the Mooroobool area just before 3.30am when they observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner.
The vehicle was followed a short distance before being intercepted in Henley Street.
Officers spoke with two women and a man and observed a quantity of tools in the vehicle.
A search was conducted, allegedly resulting in the location of a significant quantity of power and hand tools, jewellery and other items.
A quantity of methylamphetamine, a glass pipe, and a sum of cash was also located in the vehicle, and further significant sums were allegedly located in the possession of the two women.
All of the located property and cash was seized.
A 26-year-old Cairns North woman was charged with possession of a dangerous drug, possession of things used in the commission of a crime and possession of tainted property.
She is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court later this morning.
A 32-year-old Woree woman was charged with possession of tainted property and is expected to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on August 18.
A 35-year-old Cairns North man was released without charge.
Investigations into the property are continuing.
