Cairns detectives charged a number of people on Thursday following unrelated drug inquiries at addresses across the Far North.

Officers executed a search warrant at a McLachlan Street address around 8am.

The search allegedly located a small quantity of cannabis and a water pipe which were seized.

A 33-year-old Manunda woman was issued with a notice to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on August 21, where she is expected to face charges of possession of a dangerous drug, supplying a dangerous drug and possession of a drug utensil.

Officers also executed a search warrant at a Pease Street address around 1.30pm where a small quantity of cannabis and several drug utensils were located and seized.

A 64-year-old Manoora man was issued with a notice to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on July 7.

He is expected to face one charge each of possession of a dangerous drug and possession of a drug utensil.

Smithfield police were also conducting some localised drug enforcement yesterday with the execution of a search warrant at Trinity Park.

Officers attended a Debbie Street residence around 11am.

A search warrant was executed at the address and three people were detained.

Several small quantities of cannabis and several drug utensils were allegedly located.

Five cannabis seedlings were also found and seized from the back yard.

Two Trinity Park men aged 31 and 34 were issued with notices to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on August 13.

They will each face charges of possession of a dangerous drug and possession of a drug utensil.

The 31-year-old will also face a further charge of producing a dangerous drug.
