Pair of teens charged after alleged jewellery theft, Earlville
A senior victim of crime was most impressed with police after her sentimental jewellery was returned to her less than six hours after it was stolen from her home.
Two 14-year-old Northern Beaches boys have been charged after they allegedly forced entry to the woman’s Langan Street home in the afternoon on October 4.
It will be alleged the pair ransacked the ground floor of the home and fled after stealing a quantity of valuable and sentimental jewellery.
With the help of witnesses and nearby CCTV, officers from the Property Crime Squad tracked down the alleged offenders at homes in Holloway’s Beach and Earlville. It will be alleged the pair were still in possession of the stolen jewellery.
Both boys were charged with burglary and are scheduled to appear before the Cairns Children’s court.
