Two teenage girls are due to face the Cairns Children’s Court over an armed robbery in Manoora.

It is alleged the two 17-year-olds pointed small knives at a taxi driver and demanded cash and other items before being dropped at Reservoir Road just before midday on Monday.

The pair and another girl allegedly ran away towards Redlynch.

Detectives arrested two of the girls on Brophy street yesterday after chasing one of them down.

Both were charged with robbery and one girl is facing charges for drug possession.

Investigations are ongoing.
