Teens charged over spate of property crime
Two boys have been charged over a string of alleged property crimes in Cairns.
It's alleged the 16-year-old boys committed the crimes between July 23 and August 1 in the suburbs of Trinity Beach, Woree, Earlville and Westcourt.
Officers arrested the boys yesterday following a search warrant at a Bungalow home.
A 16-year-old Westcourt boy was charged with three counts of entering a premises, two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of wilful damage and trespass.
Meanwhile, a 16-year-old Bungalow boy was charged with two counts of trespass, and one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, burglary, entering a premises and possessing a drug utensil.
Bail was refused for both teens, who are scheduled to appear in the Cairns Children’s Court.
