Teen charged for property crime
Police charged a 14-year-old Trinity Beach boy yesterday as part of investigations into a number of property related offences.
It will be alleged that the boy was part of a small group of youths who were disturbed attempting to steal property from vehicles in Dennis Close at Mooroobool on Tuesday morning.
Two other youths aged 14 and 15 were located and arrested near the scene by officers from the Mooroobool Police Beat and charged with 20 property related offences.
Officers from the Cairns Property Crime Squad located the boy on the Cairns Esplanade just before 9pm last night and he was taken into custody.
He was charged with four counts of attempted entry to premises and one count of stealing.
The charges relate to offences allegedly committed at Mooroobool and Edmonton on August 7 and 8.
