Local police were called to a noise complaint at a home in Carrol Street Mareeba at about 1.30am yesterday.

As a result, police issued the 27-year-old woman residing at the property with a noise abatement direction.

It will be alleged the woman failed to comply and continued with the noise before police returned and issued a second noise abatement direction.

It’s further alleged as police left the residence, the woman yelled obscenities at police and continued to contravene the direction.

She was subsequently charged with two counts of fail to comply with a noise abatement direction and is scheduled to appear in the Mareeba Magistrates Court on March 5.
