13 Charged Following Drug Bust In Far North

13 people have been charged in the far north after a police crack down on drug activity.

A number of properties were searched across the Cassowary Coast at the end of May.

As a result of the searches of the addresses, officers will allege they located several weapons including a crossbow, bayonet and a number of rifles and shotguns.

Around 500 cannabis plants were located at various growing stages as well as around 4kg of cannabis, 50 grams of methylamphetamine, and around 400 rounds of ammunition.

Scales, glass pipes, bongs and hydroponic equipment were also located.

A 53-year-old Deeral man was charged with one count each of producing dangerous drugs Schedule 2 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3; and possessing a dangerous drug and was issued with a notice to appear at the Cairns Magistrates Court on July 1.

A 27-year-old Manoora woman was charged with possessing a drug utensil and is scheduled to appear at the Cairns Magistrates Court on June 24.

A number of addresses were searched around Innisfail and the surrounding area.

A 36-year-old East Innisfail man was charged with possess property suspected of having been acquired for the purpose of committing a drug offence, possess property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence, possessing anything used in the commission of crime defined in Part 2, possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3 but less than schedule 4, possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under Drugs Misuse Act, two counts of possessing a drug utensil and possessing dangerous drugs and nine counts of supplying

He is scheduled to appear at the Innisfail Magistrates Court on August 12.

A 21-year-old Upper Daradgee woman was charged with possessing a dangerous drug and possessing a drug utensil that had been used.

A 27-year-old Eubenangee man was charged with one count each of possessing a dangerous drug and possessing a drug utensil for use.

Warrants were executed at two Upper Daradgee Road addresses.

A 38-year-old Innisfail woman was charged with possess property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence and four counts of possessing dangerous drugs.

A 38-year-old Upper Daradgee woman was charged with possess dangerous drug and posses drug utensil.

Both women are scheduled to appear at the Innisfail Magistrates Court on June 24.

A 17-year-old Flying Fish Point girl will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act after it will be alleged officers located cannabis and drug utensils whilst conducting a search at a Feldt Street, Flying Fish Point address.

A 39-year-old Bellenden Ker man was charged with one count each of producing dangerous drugs Schedule 2 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3, possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 2 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3, possessing anything used in the commission of crime defined in Part 2, Possess drug utensil possess shortened firearm, authority required to possess explosives and three counts of possessing dangerous drugs.

Three warrants were executed at three different address in Kurrimine Beach.

A 38-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman from Kurrimine Beach were offered drug diversion for of possession of cannabis and a bong.

A 29-year-old Kurrimine Beach woman was charged with possessing a drug utensil and is scheduled to appear at the Innisfail Magistrates Court on June 24.

A 58-year-old Kurrimine Beach man was charged with one count each of produce a dangerous drug, possess a dangerous drug and possess a drug utensil. He is scheduled to appear at the Innisfail Magistrates Court on June 24.

Search warrants were executed at Glasgow and Wilson street addresses at El Arish.
