Woman becomes a dog's guardian angel
Tia Maree Vargas has just become a dog's guardian angel after carrying him nearly 10km down a mountain.
Vargas was on her way down the mountain trail (after reaching the 11,106-foot summit of Table Rock in the shadow of the Grand Tetons, U.S. last month) when she saw Boomer, a large English Springer Spaniel limping alongside a couple of hikers who were trying to find the dog’s owner.
Unable to leave Boomer she hoisted the 24 kg dog up onto her shoulders and began the long decline to the bottom.
See how the story unravelled here:
Vargas has since created a GoFundMe page to help with Boomer's medical expenses.
"There has been a tremendous amount of people wanting to donate and help boomer. Right now we don’t know what his medical expenses will be. It’s a matter of waiting and seeing what happens. If we raise this amount and don’t end up needing it all I will donate it to another cause :) thank you for all the sweet messages and concern for me and Boomer. I usually don’t like to ask for help. Thanks everyone who encouraged me to start this go fund me page."
