Far North Queensland has been rocked by two fatal crashes within hours of each other.
Around 11am yesterday, a motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a Toyota Rav 4 on the Gillies Range Road near Yungaburra. Emergency crews rushed to the scene, but the rider was declared dead. Police Forensic Crash Unit officers are continuing investigations into the cause of the collision.
Just hours later, tragedy struck again when a man died in a quad bike rollover on private property at Middlebrook Road around 2.30pm. Police say that incident is being treated as non-suspicious, with a report to be prepared for the coroner.
Both deaths have sent shockwaves through the region, with authorities urging road users to take extra care.
