The massive global craze that followed the release of KPop Demon Hunters is refusing to die down and now the merch is officially landing in Australia, but strangely on your local Macca’s menu starting Wednesday, 1 April.

For the uninitiated, KPop Demon Hunters is the Netflix hit that has everyone obsessed. It follows two rival groups: the fierce girls of HUNTR/X and the heartthrob boys of Saja Boys. By day, they are pop stars; by night, they are literally hunting demons. It sounds wild, because it is—and now you can actually eat like them.

What is on the menu?

Macca’s isn’t just putting a new sticker on a box; they have actually changed up the flavours to match the show’s “main characters.”

The HUNTR/X Meal (The Bold Choice) This one is all about Rumi, Mira, and Zoey. You get the classic 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, but the real star is the Purple Demon Sauce. It is a nod to Rumi’s supernatural side, it looks incredible, tastes great, and is basically designed to be photographed.

The Saja Boys Breakfast (The Morning Kick) If you are more of a breakfast person, the Saja Boys have a Honey Sriracha McMuffin. It is that perfect mix of sweet and spicy that gives you a bit of a “pop” to start your day.

The Derpy McFlurry Even if you don’t follow the film, you will probably love this. It is inspired by the show’s tiger sidekick, Derpy. It is creamy soft serve topped with brown sugar sauce and chewy tapioca pearls. It is basically “bubble tea meets ice cream,” and it is genuinely delicious.

It’s All About the Cards

For the hardcore fans, the food is almost secondary to the Photocards. Every special meal comes with a pack of two mystery cards. There are 13 to collect in total, and some are “rares” that are going to be very hard to find. If you see people trading cards in the car park, now you know why.

As Amanda Nakad from McDonald’s Australia says, this is all about bringing a bit of that TV magic into the real world. Whether you are a die-hard fan or just someone who really wants to try that purple sauce, there is a seat at the table for everyone.

The battle officially begins this Wednesday. Which side are you on?
