Accused Townsville perfume thief faces court in Cairns

A North Ward man accused of stealing $30,000 worth of perfume has faced court, after he was caught in an alleged stolen car in Cairns.

Police have been searching for 32-year-old Cameron Welch, who’s accused of breaking into Parfumerie Enchanté in Pimlico last week. Newscorp reports the North Ward was located in Cairns driving a Toyota Yaris allegedly stolen from a rental business in Manunda on Wednesday.

He’s been charged by police in relation to the high-end perfume store robbery on May 26 as well as enter premises and commit indictable offence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and failure to appear following his arrest this week.

He appeared in Cairns Magistrate Court on Thursday – no pleas have been entered.
