Investigations are ongoing after a woman suffered a laceration during an assault at a Cairns City bus stop.
The 51-year-old woman was assaulted by another woman, who was unknown to her, at Lake Street at around 2.00pm on Wednesday.
The offender, who is described as having a dark complexion and slim build, wearing a brown-coloured tracksuit and a straw hat, left the scene on a bike along Aplin Street a short time later.

Paramedics were called the scene and the injured woman was taken to Cairns Hospital in a stable condition.
Detectives are appealing to witnesses, particularly anyone with relevant vision or information, to come forward.
Investigations are continuing.
