Queensland coach Billy Slater has named Cowboys trio Reuben Cotter, Tom Dearden and Jeremiah Nanai will return for Game Two of the 2025 State of Origin series.
The move is a controversial one with Dearden replacing Queensland captain Daly Cherry-Evans – winning the battle for the number 7 jersey. Daly Cherry Evans has become the first Queensland skipper this century to be dumped mid-season, as coach Billy Slater looks to turn around their series.
Ezra Mam will also come into the 20-man squad for the June 18 clash at Perth’s Optus Stadium, with Cameron Munster named the maroons new captain.
