Far Northern Region police officer charged with serious sexual offences

A Far Northern Region police officer has been charged with multiple serious sexual offences.

The 55-year-old man has been charged with four counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault which allegedly occurred while he was off-duty.

It’s further alleged he was known to the victim.

He has been suspended from the Queensland Police Service and will appear before the Cairns Magistrates Court on March 21.
