A person has sadly died after a fire at a backpackers yesterday.
Emergency services were called to a fire at accommodation on Gordon Street around 3.30am on Wednesday.
Police believed the building was occupied at the time of the fire, however everyone evacuated safely.

Further searches of the property located a body and forensic examination is underway to identify the deceased.
A crime scene was declared and investigations commenced.
Anyone who may have witnessed anything, or has dashcam or CCTV from the area, is urged to contact investigators.
