Detectives are investigating the cause of a fire that ripped through a home north of Cairns.
At Alchera Drive in Mossman five fire crews responded to a blaze around 1pm in the afternoon.
The fire was put out but the home was gutted – luckily no residents were inside at the time.

The Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating the cause of the fire- anyone with information is asked to come forward to police.
