Babinda Boulders and Crystal Cascades remain closed to swimmers on Wednesday following Council’s announcement to shut the area to the public until water levels drop and return to safe swimming levels.
Recent rainfall means there is a significant amount of fast-flowing water rushing into local water systems increasing the risk of people slipping on rocks and being swept away, being injured or trapped by debris and objects in the water.
The Bureau of Meteorology forecasts the rainfall will continue until the end of the week. The swimming spots will remain closed until water levels drop.
