Two men are facing serious charges after a hit-and-run in Earlville over the weekend left a 61-year-old man with significant injuries.
Police allege a 25-year-old Earlville man stole a vehicle during an armed robbery on Saturday, October 4, and ran over the vehicle’s owner while fleeing the scene. The victim sustained serious arm and chest injuries.
The 25-year-old has been charged with multiple offences, including armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm. He also faces charges of failing to remain at the scene and obstructing police.
A 55-year-old Earlville man has also been charged over the incident, including receiving tainted property and obstructing police.
Both men are due to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court.
