An accused burglar has been caught red-handed by residents at Manunda.
It’s alleged around 1pm Wednesday, the occupants of a Newton Street home returned home and found a pushbike on their front lawn.
A 17-year-old boy was allegedly seen climbing back over a fence carrying a shirt belonging to the residents.
Police say the teen pushed a 31-year-old woman, causing her to fall and hurt her wrist as he grabbed his bike and rode off.
Investigations led to the boy’s arrest, with police charging him with one count each of enter dwelling and commit, common assault, trespass and stealing.
He will appear in Cairns Childrens Court at a later date.
