The Feline is Back (and Animated)
Remember the delightful mess of Dr. Seuss’s classic 1957 book? Get ready for a fresh, fully CG-animated take. Warner Bros. Animation has just premiered the fourth trailer for The Cat in the Hat, and it looks like a genuinely fun ride. While many still remember Mike Myers taking on the live-action role back in 2003, this upcoming feature is trading physical prosthetics for vibrant digital animation.
A Comedy Dream Team
Stepping into the oversized striped hat is Bill Hader, bringing his signature voice talents straight from his hit show Barry. He is joined by an absolutely stellar comedy cast. Expect to hear Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary), Bowen Yang (Wicked), Xochitl Gomez (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness), Paula Pell (Girls5eva), and the unmistakable British comedy legend Matt Berry (What We Do in the Shadows).
What’s the Plot?
Directed and written by Alessandro Carloni and Erica Rivinoja, the film gives our favourite troublemaker his toughest assignment yet. His mission: cheer up a pair of siblings who are struggling to adjust after moving to a new town. Known for always taking things just a little too far, this could be the agent of chaos’s last chance to prove himself—or risk losing his magical hat forever.
Produced by Daniela Mazzucato and Jared Stern, the film marks the first major release under a brand-new partnership between Warner Bros. Animation and Dr. Seuss Enterprises.
The Cat in the Hat bounds into cinemas on November 6th.
