October is finally here, and Sony has officially revealed the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games lineup. Whether you want to burn rubber on the track, hunt down terrifying monsters in the mud, or blast giant alien insects into tiny pieces, this month has a little bit of everything.
Starting Tuesday, October 6, PlayStation Plus members can add three totally different gaming experiences to their library. Let’s take a look at what you will be playing all the way until November 2.
F1 25 (PS5)
If you have a serious need for speed, F1 25 brings the official 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship right to your living room. You can dive deep into the single-player Career mode, or test your management skills in My Team 2.0 where you take full control as a team owner to customise your path to victory. If you prefer to race against real people, the brand-new multiplayer mode in F1 World lets you and your friends team up as a squad to compete against AI drivers. It is a fantastic way to realise your racing dreams without ever having to leave the couch.
Hunt: Showdown 1896 (PS5)
Prepare yourself for something much darker with Hunt: Showdown 1896. This is a tense, unforgiving extraction shooter set in corrupted, forgotten backwaters. Your goal is simple but incredibly difficult: track down nightmarish bosses, claim their bounty, and escape alive. The catch? Other ruthless players are trying to do the exact same thing. You can brave the shadows completely alone, or you can organise up to two teammates to join your squad. Either way, risk is everywhere.
Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 (PS5, PS4)
For those who prefer their action a bit more colourful and chaotic, Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 delivers exactly what you need. The Earth is under attack by giant enemies, but this time, everything is made of square blocks. You need to rescue scattered teammates from around the world and build a four-person squad tailored specifically to your play style. With four-player online co-op and two-player local split-screen, it is the perfect excuse to sit down with a friend and blast some voxel aliens.

Before you get completely distracted by October’s offerings, do not forget to claim last month’s games. You have until Monday, October 5, to add Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life, and Chained Echoes to your digital library.

Sony is also dropping a few extra treats this month. To celebrate the release of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day film on Sony Pictures Core, PlayStation Plus members can claim exclusive limited-edition avatars in the app starting October 6.
Finally, just in time for the spooky season, subscribers get access to exclusive HorrorFest Packs for specific games. Keep an eye out for the Call of Duty: Warzone Horror Bundle (October 1), the Hunt: Showdown 1896 Starter Pack (October 6), and the Overwatch 2 Dragur Reinhardt pack (October 7).
