A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with multiple weapons and property offences across Cairns.
In recent weeks, the boy has been accused of stealing a shirt from a Cairns City business while in possession of a knife, stealing a handbag from a Cairns North apartment and stealing food from a Manoora business.
Police say the boy stole from a McLeod Street business yesterday before threatening a security officer with a small flick knife and fleeing on foot.
It’s then alleged he stole a bike from a man at Parramatta Park.
Officers located him hiding in a cupboard at a city hotel on Spence Street and allegedly found a knife in his possession.
He was charged with three counts of stealing, two counts of possess knife in public and one count of enter dwelling and commit.
Police has been refused and he is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Children’s Court today, 13 August.
