Police are investigating a disturbance at a Cairns North licensed venue between two groups of people known to each other.
Officers were called shortly before 1am Tuesday to the Lake Street venue following reports a man had sustained an apparent stab wound to his chest.
The 55-year-old from Aurukun was treated at the scene before being transported to hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
Police attending the hospital located a 36-year-old Gordonvale woman with an apparent stab wound to her hand.
An 18-year-old Aurukun man, who was located with the woman at the hospital, was taken into custody and is assisting police with their enquiries.
Investigations are continuing into the disturbance and how the man and woman, each from a different group, sustained their injuries.
